The Goodness of MILK

Milk can help you slim down?

Milk is always thought to promote growth, and thus fats! But we have low- fat milk in our market now that will surely address your calcium needs without the fats.

Personally, I didn't notice that low fat milk made me lose weight but rather the fruits and vegetables, specially pineapples helped me a lot. But we should not limit our body needs despite the fact that milk really plays a big role in gaining weight, we need milk for calcium to prevent osteoporosis and other calcium deficiency diseases.

Here are some reasons why we need low fat milk.
Some interesting recipes for milk:

Down the road, for me, I am not considering milk can help you lose weight but many advertisements promotes that milk can help you slim down. The truth is, if you reduce the number of calories in your diet… and THEN drink 24 ounces of low fat/fat free milk per day… it will surely lead to weight loss.

The key is "reduced calorie diet" + "low fat milk".

Green Papaya Extract with Calamansi and milk

Do you dream of visibly radiant skin? Well, my mom discovered one recipe for your face and body. This will whiten, remove dark spots, moisturize and rejuvenate your skin.

GREEN PAPAYA + CALAMANSI + MILK

GREEN PAPAYA

Papaya is one of the main source of proteolytic (protein dissolving) plant enzymes. Papain is a highly potent plant enzyme isolated from papaya when the fruit is unripe & green. Papain is most potent when the papaya is still unripe and green.
Papaya is rich in vitamins A, E and C, and other anti-oxidants that help in giving skin the moisture and protection it needs. The nutrients contained in the papaya fruit helps in the skin's healing as well.

CALAMANSI

Calamansi has a very distinct alkalinizing effect on the human body, with alkaline properties present in the peel and juices of the fruit. The fruit can be used for whitening the skin, as well as a bleaching agent on mild stains of white garments.

MILK
Milk helps you to soften skin and rosy skin. Facts provide that milk contains lactic acid, proteins, enzymes, amino acids, and antioxidants that begin with exfoliating the skin, hydrating it naturally, providing it a glow and hence acting as a complete anti-ageing lotion.

Ingredients:
  • 1 Green papaya
  • 5 pcs. Calamansi
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Milk

Directions:
  • Grate the unripe green papaya and extract its juices using a piece of cloth
  • Extract the juice of calamansi
  • Mix all together the papaya extract, calamansi juice, and milk
  • Place on a bottle and keep at the refrigerator
Application:
  • Wash your face first with water and your facial cleanser.
  • Dry your face with towel
  • Put few drops of the cold mixture in a piece of cotton and gently wipe in your face. (The purpose why I let the mixture cool because cool temperature minimizes pores in your face.)
  • You can also apply the mixture in your armpits, elbows, knees and other dark spots in your skin.
  • Let it dry for at least 20 mins.
  • Rinse with water only

ACHARA (ATSARA) Recipe

Achara is one of my favorite sauce for fried dishes, grilled meat and also (if you are on a diet) for steamed meat and vegetables. It is also a good appetizer. It is easy to prepare because it is just a combination of vegetables. A very healthy sauce for everyone. Enjoy cooking! Be healthy!

Ingredients:
  • 4 cups grated fresh green papaya
  • 1/4 cup salt
  • 1 carrot, peeled and sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced into long strips
  • 1 (2 inch) piece fresh ginger root, peeled and sliced
  • 2 green chile peppers, sliced into thin rings
  • 1 (1.5 ounce) box raisins
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Cooking Instructions:
  • Toss the grated papaya with 1/4 cup salt together in a large bowl; allow to sit for 1 hour.
  • Drain the liquid from the papaya and rinse thoroughly.
  • Place the papaya in the middle of a large piece of cheesecloth and squeeze to drain as much liquid from the papaya as possible.

  • Combine the papaya, carrot, red bell pepper, ginger, green chile peppers, and raisins together in a clean large bowl; mix.

  • Transfer the mixture to clean, dry jars with lids.
  • Stir the vinegar, water, sugar and 1 teaspoon salt together in a small saucepan; bring to a boil for 5 minutes.

  • Pour the vinegar mixture into the jars, making sure the vegetables are completely submerged in liquid.
  • Cover the jar air-tight.
  • Allow the vegetables to marinate in the liquid at least 1 day before using.
  • Store in refrigerator between uses.
